On April 11th, from 10am-2pm we will be teaming with the local Open Street Map (OSM) group to conduct some outdoor mapping in support of the OSM Spring Mapathon. A focus of our event following the mid-morning outdoor surveying will be to add trailheads and trail data to the Open Trails Data Specification. Our group has identified open trail data as a goal for this year and we are eager to explore the Open Trails Data Specification.
Registration Details on the event:
Meeting at 10am to field survey at Memory Grove Park. Lunch at Church and State at 12pm.
We will be starting at 10am with some field surveying of Memory Grove to map amenities, trailheads, and trails. http://www.slcgov.com/cityparks/parks-memory-grove
Afterwards, we will all meet at 12pm at Church and State. Here we will input our edits to OpenStreetMap, input any trailheads to traileditor.org, and discuss the open trails data specification.
